Na tarde desta segunda-feira, 12 de outubro, uma carreta abandonada foi encontrada na zona rural do distrito de Vista Alegre, em Maracaju. O veículo, uma carreta Iveco de cor branca, estava carregado com 165 pneus de origem estrangeira, todos sem comprovação legal de importação.
A apreensão foi realizada por policiais militares do Departamento de Operações de Fronteira (DOF) durante um patrulhamento na rodovia MS-164. Os agentes receberam informações sobre uma carreta que estaria transportando materiais ilegais na região. Após intensificarem as buscas, conseguiram localizar o veículo.
No interior da carreta, os policiais encontraram pneus de vários tamanhos, mas não encontraram ninguém no local. A carga apreendida é avaliada em cerca de R$ 230 mil. Todo o material foi encaminhado para a Receita Federal em Ponta Porã, onde os procedimentos legais pertinentes serão adotados.
Essa operação faz parte do Programa Protetor das Fronteiras e Divisas, uma iniciativa que visa combater o contrabando e outros crimes relacionados às fronteiras, em colaboração com a Secretaria de Estado de Justiça e Segurança Pública e o Ministério da Justiça e Segurança Pública.
O DOF também informa que possui um canal de denúncia disponível 24 horas, pelo telefone 0800 647-6300, para que a população possa colaborar com informações sobre atividades ilícitas na região.
