Cautela nas Estradas Neveadas: Diretrizes para Motoristas

A recente onda de frio intenso está trazendo neve pesada para muitas rodovias e vias expressas. Essa condição exige atenção redobrada dos motoristas, especialmente aqueles que utilizam pneus comuns. Dirigir com esse tipo de pneu em estradas nevadas é perigoso e pode levar a sérias consequências, incluindo longas paralisações e até mesmo mortes.

De acordo com especialistas, os pneus comuns oferecem bom desempenho apenas em estradas secas. Em condições de neve ou gelo, a aderência dos pneus diminui drasticamente, o que dificulta frenagens, subidas e curvas. Essa situação pode culminar em acidentes e engarrafamentos, como foi o caso de uma paralisação em janeiro de 2024, próximo ao entroncamento de Sekigahara, onde 1.200 veículos ficaram presos por mais de 19 horas devido a um caminhão que derrapou.

Além dos engarrafamentos, a falta de cuidado pode levar a riscos fatais. Em fevereiro de 2018, a rodovia 8, na província de Fukui, registrou uma paralisação que aprisionou 1.500 veículos por três dias, resultando na morte de dois motoristas devido à intoxicação por monóxido de carbono, pois seus escapamentos estavam cobertos de neve.

As autoridades locais, incluindo o Observatório de Meteorologia de Nagoia e a NEXCO, estão alertando os motoristas sobre a importância de usar pneus apropriados e evitar viagens desnecessárias durante esses períodos críticos. Caso a viagem seja inevitável, recomenda-se não ter pressa, planejando adequadamente o tempo de deslocamento.

Para aqueles que eventualmente ficarem presos, é essencial estar preparado. Itens como comida (pães, biscoitos, chocolates), água, um banheiro portátil, cobertores, aquecedores de mãos e uma bateria externa são recomendados. Uma pá de neve também pode ser útil para desobstruir os escapamentos dos veículos, garantindo assim a segurança dos ocupantes.

As diretrizes e precauções são vitais para reduzir os riscos durante a condução em condições de inverno rigoroso. Os motoristas devem ser conscientes das regras de trânsito que proíbem o uso de pneus inadequados em estradas cobertas de neve, pois uma única paralisação pode afetar milhares de pessoas nas vias.
