Continental troca de CEO e reforça foco em pneus

O conselho fiscal da Continental AG anunciou que Christian Kötz será o novo presidente executivo da empresa a partir de 1º de janeiro de 2026. O atual CEO, Nikolai Setzer, deixará o cargo em 31 de dezembro de 2025, de forma consensual, após cinco anos à frente da companhia e mais de 16 anos no conselho.

Essa mudança de liderança acontece em um momento estratégico para a Continental, que está se reorganizando para se tornar uma empresa exclusivamente focada na fabricação de pneus. Recentemente, a companhia finalizou o processo de separação da Aumovio e fechou um acordo para vender a área de Soluções para Equipamentos Originais. As preparações para a venda da divisão ContiTech, prevista para 2026, já foram concluídas e o processo de venda deve começar em janeiro.

Wolfgang Reitzle, presidente do conselho fiscal, elogiou o trabalho realizado por Setzer, citando a reestruturação que resultou na formação de três empresas independentes. Ele também destacou Kötz como um dos líderes mais experientes na indústria global de pneus.

Christian Kötz tem uma longa trajetória na Continental, onde entrou em 1996. Desde 2019, ele integra o conselho da empresa e já ocupou diversas posições importantes, incluindo a liderança das áreas de reposição de pneus de passageiros na Europa, Oriente Médio e África, a unidade de equipamentos originais, o setor de pneus de veículos comerciais e também coordenou a pesquisa global de pneus de passageiros.
