Ataque em fábrica no Japão resulta em 14 feridos

Na tarde desta sexta-feira, 26 de outubro, um ataque com faca em uma fábrica no Japão deixou pelo menos 14 pessoas feridas. O incidente aconteceu em uma unidade de produção de borracha localizada na cidade de Mishima, na região de Shizuoka.

De acordo com Tomoharu Sugiyama, comandante do departamento de bombeiros da cidade, por volta das 16h30, horário local, os serviços de emergência foram acionados após uma denúncia de que cinco ou seis funcionários da fábrica haviam sido atacados. Posteriormente, 14 pessoas foram levadas para atendimento médico.

Informações da imprensa japonesa indicam que um homem de aproximadamente 30 anos foi preso sob suspeita de tentativa de assassinato. Relatos sugerem que ele tinha alguma ligação com a fábrica e, durante o ataque, usava uma máscara de gás.

Ainda não se conhece a gravidade dos ferimentos dos atingidos, mas todos estavam conscientes quando foram socorridos. De acordo com fontes locais, pelo menos seis das 14 vítimas foram transportadas para o hospital em ambulâncias.

A fábrica de Mishima é administrada pela Yokohama Rubber Co., uma empresa que fabrica pneus para caminhões e ônibus, conforme informações disponíveis em seu site.

Embora o Japão tenha uma das menores taxas de homicídios do mundo e leis rigorosas sobre a posse de armas, ataques violentos ocasionalmente ocorrem. Casos como o assassinato do ex-primeiro-ministro Shinzo Abe em 2022 e um ataque em outubro deste ano que resultou na morte de quatro pessoas, incluindo dois policiais, evidenciam que a violência, embora rara, ainda acontece no país.
